Children's Music That Rocks | warren truitt is the children's librarian at the new york city central library- and he has an ear for great music. Hilltown Families | an excellent example of the binding energy that ties family-friendly performers together. Saints and spinners | here's a local seattle-area storyteller named farida dowler! she's built a great music and storytelling resource Victory music | a tacoma non-profit for the advancement of all things musical, particularly acoustic and jazz

Ravenna Third Place Books | this great neighborhood bookstore is where recess monkey cut its live show teeth! tons of local storytellers and musicians play on saturday mornings Island Books | independently owned by the fabulous page family, this bookstore is like our "inside man" on mercer island! (a nice place to get good book recommendations too!) All For Kids Books | another great seattle-area bookstore. lots of music acts have played their storytelling room. World Cup Espresso | right across the street from ucds, this cafe knows how to part lunch hour educators with a coffee dollar or two... great local kids' music
Sam's Rot'n Pot'n Band | a really, really fun vancouver b.c. based pirate band. we played with them once and hope to again! Board of Education | great songs from the kids' arm of central services, a popular seattle band. 
"what's happening?" (space-aged resources for busy families) Red Tricycle | an endless supply of fun family activities in seattle. find out about music BEFORE it happens! Parent Map | tons of reviews, event listings and parent-centered articles. GoCityKids | another spectacular listing of events, events, events... the only thing we don't like is it gives you 100 alternatives for recess monkey each time we play! recording/ mastering/duplication: Jack Straw Studios | jack straw is a neat independent recording studio in the heart of the university district. they regularly sponsor bands for free recording time and are totally committed to the artistic integrity of a project Rick Fisher & Ed Brooks @ RFI CD mastering | ed brooks could be called the fourth recess monkey- he takes our homespun album recordings and adds a thick layer of cool on top. seriously, he's the coolest person any of us have met. Jupiter Studios | jack and drew's old band recorded here. it's a really nice room in wallingford for a reasonable rate. Discmakers | we duplicate through discmakers. |

Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child | broadcasting out of northampton, mass, bill and his daughter ella spin two hours of great music on saturday mornings Greasy Kid Stuff | more fun radio with Belinda and Hova that stays crunchy... even in milk XM Kids | robbie and mindy keep the hits coming on xm radio's kids' station. recess monkey is frequently played! The Northwest Choirs | jack is an alumnus of the northwest boychoir and now sits on the board of the choirs. an unreal music education with great teachers and peers! Rob Hampton | simultaneously the nicest and van-halen-iest guitarist in town. rob teaches guitar lessons, singing and even has time to play "sick licks" on songs of ours.
