Day : Eastern Washington

|
We arrived in Kennewick last night and discovered the most beautiful, pastoral hill on the far side of the hotel parking lot! Drew hiked to the top expecting a view of the local flora and fauna... which I guess he DID find. It was, ahem, a Walmart parking lot. But I guess it's worth noting here that it was a SUPER WallMart. Jack went inside and spent some of our per diems or, as Drew says, "Carpe Per Diems." |
Fast forward to our second show on Tuesday at the West Richland Library. AND WHAT A SHOW!
We actually played in the chambers of the local town council and Mayor Monkey couldn't hold himself back. He started all of this grandstanding about making sure we had a quorum present before rocking out. Melivin tried to filibuster him, but a landshark can only talk for so long... Anyway, in the style of Nina Totenberg from NPR, here are the transcripts of what transpired: |

Mayor Monkey: "On this twenty second day of July, I do hereby declare that it is time to rock out this local civic government meeting room. But first, some housekeeping."
Drew: "Mayor Monkey, do you actually have authority here?"
Mayor Monkey: "The name Mayor means that I get to throw my weight around wherever and whenever I want! Just like Judge Reinhold!"
Daron: "But he's not even a real judge."
Mayor Monkey: "Daron, there are minutes being taken of this meeting. I don't think Judge Reinhold would really want his name taken in vain."
Jack: "MayMo, it's already 2:15. We were supposed to start rocking out-"
Mayor Monkey: "You mean PASSING LEGISLATION?"
Jack: Um... okay, sure. We were supposed to start, ahem, 'passing legislation' fifteen minutes ago.
Mayor Monkey: "Point taken Justice Forman. All those in favor of rocking out?"
Audience: "AYE!"
Mayor Monkey: "All right then, let's rock this town council like it's never been rocked before!"
